Maritime London is pleased to announce the appointment of Jos Standerwick as the new Chief Executive of Maritime London.
Jos is currently Director of Development and External Affairs at international maritime charity The Mission to Seafarers, an organisation with which many of the Members and Directors of Maritime London have a close relationship. He will take up his new position in July.
After graduating from the University of Southampton, Jos has spent the majority of his working life in the maritime sector and brings a strong knowledge of the UK maritime industries and the various stakeholders within it.
Chairman of Maritime London, Lord Mountevans said on the appointment: “We are delighted to be bringing in to our organisation someone of Jos’s calibre at this pivotal time for both our Nation and our industry. He has a clear passion for the maritime industry and understands that our Members are paramount to what we do. His energy and enthusiasm will be invaluable as Maritime London seeks to take to another level its efforts to support and enhance not only the maritime services sector, which we have been proud to serve for over 16 years, but the entire maritime offering of the United Kingdom.”
Jos commented: “It is a great honour to be offered this role. While Doug Barrow has left considerable shoes to fill, I very much look forward to working with the Members of Maritime London and the Board to build on his significant legacy. This is a very exciting, if challenging, time for our industry and there has never been a greater need for a proactive trade association to fight for the best operational environment and to engage with the global industry to attract investment to the UK maritime sector. My prime objective will to ensure that the United Kingdom and London remain at the heart of the global maritime business.”
