London Maritime Abritrators Association (LMAA) delegates were in Rio de Janeiro in force at the biennial International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators (ICMA XXI). The Congress took place from 9 to 13 March and was attended by over 200 delegates from more than 20 countries (despite the threat of the imminent closure of borders).
Some 30 papers were delivered by the delegates from London, reinforcing the pre-eminent position of London as the maritime dispute resolution venue of choice. LMAA Past President Clive Aston was Chairman of the Steering Committee for the event. Key papers of LMAA speakers will shortly be available on the LMAA website.
