Kennedys are delighted to announce continued growth in the United States with the opening of our first West Coast office, in California, and the addition of a four-partner team.
The office, located in San Francisco, will open with four partners whom all join from Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP: Forrest Booth, Erik Kowalewsky, Pamela Schultz and Jonathan Thames. The team, who come with vast experience in maritime, energy and insurance coverage law, advise a number of London Market, international and domestic insurers.
Forrest was Senior Partner of his former firm’s maritime and energy practice. Along with Pamela and Jonathan, they are currently one of the largest maritime practices in San Francisco. Erik has considerable London Market experience, with his practice primarily focused on insurance coverage, including, among other lines, cyber and tech E&O, D&O, professional liability, general liability, property, healthcare, marine, and energy.
Service to clients remains our priority and was at the heart of this decision. This is a major development for Kennedys’ global expansion, as it establishes a presence on the West Coast taking the total number of offices across the US to seven.
Kennedys has in excess of 2,100 staff worldwide with 39 offices across North America and Bermuda, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. This exceptional presence, in all of the world’s major insurance hubs, considerably enhances the service and expertise that we provide to our clients.
The new team in San Francisco will be operating remotely until further notice due to ongoing measures in place surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19). Our robust global IT infrastructure allows our people to work remotely, meaning that service to clients remains unaffected.
