LIIBA is the trade association for Lloyd’s brokers. LIIBA represents its members on all matters affecting them within the London and International Markets. We have the support of the vast majority of Lloyd’s Brokers, accounting for over 95% of the Market’s business.
LIIBA’s mission is to ensure that London remains the pre-eminent insurance centre in the global market. LIIBA exists to facilitate and support that. We provide efficient and expert guidance to firms as to how they should operate within the London marketplace and the wider UK, European and global regulatory framework. We work with international colleagues to ensure that the broker voice is heard in the continuous campaign for proportionate regulation and realistic tax policies. We ensure that a coherent set of broker requirements are at the heart of the market’s process modernisation strategy. It is LIIBA’s role to simplify the life of all our members so that they can concentrate on their main purpose – developing a profitable business.
We work closely with the London market insurer Associations – IUA and LMA as well as Lloyd’s itself. We also sit on the Board the European brokers’ association – BIPAR – and the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries. And we liaise regularly with the trade body for the retail market – BIBA.
