Nautilus International is the union for more than 22,000 maritime professionals working at sea and ashore.
With offices in the UK, Netherlands and Switzerland, we are the first truly trans-boundary union for personnel working in one of the world’s most globalised industries. We are an independent, campaigning and progressive organisation that speaks up for seafarers and protects maritime professionals.
Our history spans more than 160 years, and today we provide 24/7 support and representation for members, wherever they may be – delivering a wide range of specialist industrial, professional and technical, legal and welfare services.
We represent our members in negotiations with shipping companies and employers on issues including pay and conditions, working hours, and pensions. And we are the voice of maritime professionals in discussions with regulatory authorities, governments and UN agencies such as the IMO and ILO on subjects such as shipboard conditions, health and safety, and training.
Nautilus is affiliated to a number of national and international bodies, including the International Transport Workers’ Federation and the International Federation of Ship Masters’ Associations.
