Former Maritime London Chief Executive (from 2006 to 2017) Doug Barrow, representing the ward of Aldgate and until recently serving as chair of the City of London Corporation’s Police Authority Board, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to the maritime sector and to the City of London in the 2021 Queen’s New Year’s Honours.
Barrow said: “It has been a great privilege to promote the UK’s world leading maritime industries helping them to grow globally. The maritime sector is an important part of our economy and the City plays a key role in supporting it.
“I am deeply honoured to receive an MBE and would like to thank all those who have supported me.”
