The London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) has elected Sara Gillingham Aukner and Ben Goss as Full Members.
Sara trained in London as a solicitor and worked for many years in Norway, with a law firm, a P&I Club and a shipowner, before becoming a full-time arbitrator and mediator. As such, she has extensive legal and commercial experience of shipping and trade worldwide. Sara has served as a representative on the BIMCO documentary committee.
Ben is a chartered shipbroker, arbitrator and mediator. He has experience of chartering bulkers, tankers and OSVs, and in ship finance and the sale and purchase of second-hand tonnage. Over the years Ben, who has a BA in Business and Law, has worked in Greece, the USA, Denmark and the UK.
LMAA President David Steward said, “When we elect Full Members, we are reflecting the choice of users of London arbitration. Sara and Ben already have successful practices, which means that they have frequently been chosen as arbitrators by parties. We are delighted to welcome them as Full Members.”
