Maritime London once again held its annual dinner on December 3rd at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall.
Following the pre-dinner drinks, the guests were invited to RAC’s iconic and beatifully decorated Mountbatten Room, where the dinner was served. Maritime London’s Chief Executive, having welcomed everyone, thanked the Baltic Exchange for its continuing support of the event and invited its CEO Mark Jackson, who is also Vice-Chair of Maritime London, to say a few words.
The guest of honour was HM British Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic Matthew Lodge spoke next. Addressing the audience of over 220 of representatives of Maritime London’s member companies and their guests he said: “The firms attending this evening are a clear illustration of the enduring strength of the London market, and of course, the rationale for the relationship between Maritime London and the Embassy in Greece goes beyond our shared interest in good food. The synergy of the London and Greek markets as the leading providers of professional services and the leading ship-owning nation is clear. And therefore, it has always been a priority for the Embassy’s DBT team to promote UK maritime interests in Greece.”
Dinner tables were hosted by: AXA XL, BankServe, Baltic Exchange, BMS Harris & Dixon Marine, Citi, Clarksons, Gard (UK), HFW, Maritime Coastguard Agency, Maritime London, Miller, NorthStandard, Norwegian Hull Club, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, Quadrant Chambers, Seastar Maritime, Spinnaker Global, Stephenson Harwood LLP, Tsakos Shipping (London), Twenty Essex and Watson Farley & Williams LLP.
The concluding speech of the dinner was made by Phil Parry, CEO of Spinnaker Global, Director of Maritime London and also a Trustee of Maritime London Officer Cadet Scholarship (MLOCS), which spoke passionately about the charity and its cadets’ progress. Over £3,600 was raised in donations as a result in the course of the dinner. If you would like to make a donation, please use this link https://www.justgiving.com/mlocs.
