Maritime London held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year 2019 on Friday 24 January at the Baltic Exchange.
Reporting on the Association’s activities since the previous AGM a year earlier, Maritime London chairman Lord Mountevans opened the meeting outlining plans for the current year 2020 and beyond. Citing political uncertainties and the pressures affecting the maritime sector he said: “…one can see at least a little room for optimism in 2020 and I hope for the decade ahead. Maritime London will continue to look to the horizon and the fundamental changes that will define shipping in the 2020s and indeed the foreseeable future.”
As part of the regular AGM business, the meeting has re-elected Mark Lloyd, Chairman of the Admiralty Solicitors Group (ASG) and Partner, Kennedys to the board of directors and announced that Phil Parry, Chairman, Spinnaker Global was stepping down from the Maritime London board.
Talking about Phil’s resignation Lord Mountevans said: “Phil is a dynamic, entrepreneurial and well-connected person in our sector, spinning various plates and doing the amazing job of fundraising for the OSCAR Campaign, his knowledge of the labour market and HR, in particular, will be missed. On behalf of Maritime London, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Phil for his significant contribution to the Association.”
