Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) is delighted to announce the relocation of Maritime Assets and Structured Finance Partner Simon Petch from Singapore to London.
Simon joined WFW in 2006 and was based in London before he moved to Singapore in 2012. Simon’s focus is on all aspects of maritime law. His practice includes advising owners, financiers and other maritime industry participants on debt, leasing and structured finance, security, construction and conversion, sale and purchase, management and other operational and corporate aspects. He has also been involved in numerous high-profile restructuring, work-out and dispute resolution matters, as well as public placement transactions.
In recent years, Simon’s practice has been heavily focussed on sustainability within the shipping industry, working alongside clients and across our various service lines internally on this key issue for the sector. He co-leads the firm’s Sustainable Shipping Campaign and was part of the team that compiled the firm’s maritime thought leadership report, ‘The Sustainability Imperative’ earlier this year.
Simon’s remarkable depth of expertise will be invaluable to the London Maritime team, particularly his experience in working on high-profile cross-border deals across Asia-Pacific which will boost the team’s offering considerably. Simon will continue to support his international clients thanks to the effective remote-working policies implemented by WFW.
Head of London Assets & Structured Finance Lindsey Keeble commented: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Simon back to WFW London. His stellar reputation and wide-ranging expertise represent a fantastic addition to our maritime offering in London”.
Simon commented: “I am very excited to be returning to the market-leading team in London. These are dynamic and ground-breaking times in the maritime sector and I am thrilled to be adding my diverse skill set to the opportunities in the market here”.
